# Notification Settings

You can receive notifications for various events that occur in Creco.

## Checking Notifications

* Clicking the avatar shows notifications below your info.
* The number of unread notifications is shown at the top right of the avatar.
* Clicking a notification takes you to where it occurred.
* Clicking the checkbox marks it as read, and clicking the delete button removes the notification.

## Notification Settings

Using the notification settings feature, you can receive only the notifications you want.

### Allow Notifications by Channel

* Web Push Notifications
  * As long as the browser is open, notifications from Creco are sent as computer notifications while you use your computer.
  * For web push, notifications are sent immediately when they occur.
* Email Notifications
  * Coming soon, this will let you receive notifications from Creco via email.

### Allow Notifications by Type

* Mentions
  * You can receive a notification when you are mentioned.
* Feedback
  * You can receive notifications for situations such as feedback being created on your output, or the status of feedback you wrote changing.
* Comments
  * You can receive notifications for situations such as a comment being added to feedback you created, or another comment being added to a comment you wrote.
* Process Completion and Closing
  * You can receive a notification when the progress status of a project you're part of changes (process closed, work completed, etc.).
* Invitations
  * You can receive notifications for situations such as being invited, or a new user you invited completing sign-up.
* Calendar
  * You can receive a notification when you are added to a calendar event you're part of.

### Allow Service Notifications

* Announcements
  * Cannot be disabled; you receive notifications for situations Creco must announce.
* Update News
  * You can receive notifications introducing Creco's new features.

### Per-Project Notification Settings

* Clicking the bell icon at the top of the project page lets you set whether to receive notifications from that project.
* However, for mentions, notifications are still sent even if project notifications are turned off.

## How to Set Up Web Push Notifications

Check your **browser** and **device**, follow the additional setup steps below, and check again.

### How to Set Up Notifications by Browser

#### Chrome Browser

1. Check that Chrome is up to date.
2. In \[ Settings - Privacy and security - Site settings - Notifications ], check that **creco.so** is added to "Allowed to send notifications."
3. If it's listed under Not allowed, change it to Allowed.
4. If it doesn't exist, add "<https://creco.so>" to Allowed.

#### Edge Browser

1. Check that Edge is up to date.
2. In \[ Settings - Cookies and site permissions - Notifications ], check that **creco.so** has been added.
3. If it's blocked, change it to Allow.
4. If it doesn't exist, add "<https://creco.so>" to Allow.

### How to Set Up Notifications by Operating System (OS)

#### Windows

1. Go to \[ Settings - System - Notifications ].
2. Enable notifications from apps and other senders.
3. In the list below, check that notifications are turned on for the browser you use, under apps and other senders.
4. If the browser is not shown, we recommend uninstalling and reinstalling it.

#### Mac

1. Go to \[ System Preferences - Notifications ].
2. Allow notifications for the browser you use and select Banners as the notification style.
